About Site Tips
Wanna know how to make your site last and better? Read These tips to help you out.Site Tips
1. Don't Jock! This one is pretty basic, but I consider it the number one rule in the site world. Jocking is: stealing, taking content without permission, and/or claiming it as your own. If you don't know how to make graphics, why not look at some site's tutorials, or request one? Most site's will gladly make one.
2. Save your images in the extension '.png'
Have you ever seen websites with blurry images or even the ones that look bad quality? In my opinion, I don't like it that much. Thats why I use the extension '.png' This extension keeps the quality in your graphics. If you don't know what an extenstion is, here is an example of how to save your graphics: 'imagename.png'
3. Be friendly!
I can not stress this enough. Be friendly as a site owner, say 'hi' to affies once in a while, and maybe comment a new site you just visited. Plus, being friendly draws more people towards your site meaning more views. I highly don't recommend using curse words through-out your site, because think about it.. A young child could be using your site, or even an adult that you know of could be checking out your site. Wouldn't wanna have people's opinion of you change because of that.
4. Be creative with your site name!
Like the title says, be creative! Think of a site name that stands out and something people will remember. Personally, I don't think long names are the best because they are harder to remember. Maybe you could go to a translator and translate some english words into a foreign languange that you think stands out. Some people use that idea, and it's drawn alot of people towards their site.
5. Unique content!
Visitors hate seeing the same content over and over from different sites. Why not be unique and add some of your own content? Maybe nothing to dramatic, but atleast try to create unique patterns, layouts, etc. You never know, sites may love your idea and want to do the same!
6. Update frequently!
Update frequently! It could be just a blog on your homepage, adding graphics, and/or something new to your website. But people love seeing new things and will always come back to your site looking forward to something new.
7. Unique Layout!
This May be a tough one, and you don't have to do it, but having a unique website layout always seems to draw in people. People will talk about how different your site (in a good way!) and who knows, you may even create a trend in the site world and inspire people.
8. Don't TyP3 Lyk3 DiS!
This may not bother some people, but to me, I personally can't stand when people talk like that. Please, please, please talk normal. Alot of people out there who have sites want to read and communicate with proper letters, spelling, and punctuation.
