About Installing Cutenews

Ever seen websites with pages of updates? Now you can do this also with this tutorial!

Installing Cutenews

To install cutenews, you will go to the cutenews website. If you use a ftp website to update your website, download the cutenews file. Do not extract the file! Now go to your favorite ftp website and create a new directory called: "cutenews" Just to keep things tidy. Open the directory, and upload the zip file you just downloaded with cutenews. (Be sure you upload in the right spot accordingly for zip files!) If the website hasnt already extracted the files, extract every file. Now you will check the file that says "data" and click the CHMOD button. Change everything to '777'. This will make the files readable, writeable, and executable. Once you do that, go inside the data folder, click the "archives" file, and select all. CMOD this file also by clicking all the files and changing the numbers to "777". Now you are done! Put in your website address and put 'cutenews' twice. Example: http://yoursite.com/cutewnews/cutenews Press enter, and you should come across the cutenews installer. Click "proceed installation" Once you are on the next page, click "proceed installation" again. Next, you will come across another page and basically you will put in your basic information. Click "proceed installation" again. Now you have installed cutenews. Click "login page" so you can now login to your cutenews. After you login, to put cutenews on your site, you go to "options" and then click "integration wizards (nes and rss)". Choose the second option which is "integrate news into your site". Once you are on the next page, tell it how many posts you want it to show at once time on your website. If you want, edit any other required information on this page. Lastly, you will click "proceed to integration" and you will get a code. Copy and paste this code where you want cutenews to be on your website. Voila' you are now done!
